To enable you to comply with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006, you are required to assess the risk of the likely exposure to Asbestos Containing Materials within you premises. This can easily be achieved by carrying out an Asbestos survey.
Asbestos was used in the manufacture of buildings up to 1999 resulting in the majority of building in the UK containing a considerable amount of Asbestos containing materials.
Safety Services (UK) Ltd offer the following two surveys as specified in HSG 264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide
Asbestos Managment Survey HSG 264
Refurbishment / Demolition Survey HSG 264 Formely Type 3
All surveys meet the requirements of HSG 264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide and all surveyors are qualified to a minimum standard of BOHS P402.
Safety Services (UK) Ltd are not a Asbestos removal company which results in a totally impartial survey report as we have nothing to gain from advising you to remove the Asbestos containing materials.
Safety Services (UK) Ltd offer a complete Asbestos management service to ensure that you comply with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006. We will provide you with a survey which not only identifies the Asbestos containing material (ACM) but also assesses the condition, to establish the relative ability of the ACM to release fibres into the air.
Question: Do I have to have Asbestos removed?
Answer: No, assuming the asbestos containing material is not posing any risk of releasing air born dust to occupants and you have a Asbestos management plan that identifies this, then as long as it is managed the ACM can be left in place.
