Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme

Many of the major construction companies and those in the UK Construction Group are now demanding that designated supervisors or foreman appointed by subcontractors are able to demonstrate adequate safety training. The 2 Day Site Supervisors course is now proving very popular, although this is one of a number of courses which satisfies the criteria as described in our last news letter.  As a subcontractor, if you have not been asked, or you have been asked, but have not made provision, you are advised to act now as your supervisors may not be allowed back on site in a supervisory capacity from January 2010 if you cannot show you have made appropriate arrangements.

If you are a member of a specialist trades association that is affiliated to the NSCC (National Specialist Contractors Council) http://www.nscc.org.uk/members-directory.asp you may be able to claim up to £50.00 per delegate in grant from the NSCC if booking the SSSTS course through Safety Services (UK) Limited. This is in addition to any grant you can claim back from Construction Skills.
